better late than never...

11 Months Old

I'm a little behind on my update for this month. Cassidy is now 11 months old and turning 1 year in a couple of weeks. Not a whole lot was new with Cassidy, other than to say that she is really starting to discover her diva side. She is regularly displaying her little princess attitude, as well as showing that she has a very sensitive side to her. The wrong look, or even a hurting cry from her brother will bring out large crocodile tears. She gets it honestly, poor child. Or should we say poor Daddy, as he isn't quite sure how to live in a home surrounded by so much sensitivity. He'll learn.

Cassidy is still not walking but is moving around quite fast on all fours. Grayson meanwhile is a sports fanatic, and if we let him, he would play nothing else all day. We actually have to encourage him to drop the football or basketball or hockey stick and tell him to pick up the play dough or the Thomas the Train set, which he also enjoys.

We've signed Grayson up for soccer this spring, and his season starts in mid-April with team pictures happening in just over a week. He's even been practicing his soccer pose, holding his soccer ball in his arm, saying cheese for the camera. It looks like he'll be one of those boys that just loves to play a sport.

Jeremy is about to change jobs - again! His position at the hockey rink will be finishing alongside of the end of the minor hockey season, and he'll be taking on a new role with Camp Wapiti as the camp's director. Officially it's a 6 month position, but everyone will work hard to see it continue through the winter and turn it into a full time year round position. Jeremy is very excited about this new opportunity, and we're starting to get more excited too. We'll get to live at the camp for the 6 weeks that kids will be using the camp. All we have to find is one or two trailers that people don't mind lending us for a few weeks. Grayson however just wants to set up the tent and live in that.

I'm starting to train for a 10k run. I started training last month and I'm hoping to run a race at the end of May. We've decided to hold off on getting pregnant until the fall but if it happens sooner, we'll be thrilled. Other than that not a whole lot is going on these days, just living life and trying to make the most of the days that we have here. We're looking forward to the spring and to the warmer weather that is on the way. We've all been a little stir crazy with the long cold winter and can't wait to get out in the back yard and run around the park.
